MONSTER
11
A
Partial Gothic / Occult / Horror Short Story In Long-Hand
Written in the Tradition of H.P. Lovecraft
This Appeared at the Dillettante
Press website but is no longer linked. I discoverd and saved
it a year ago from a Google image search.
The subtitle is "Paul Laffoley interviews a Boston Monster
upon the occasion of an exhibition entitled Terrors and Wonders:
Monsters in Contemporary Art at The Decordova Museum and Sculpture
Park." It was not a part of their book "The
End Is Near:" Apocalypse & Utopia
in 20th Century Art (which I thought was out of print, but
is still there!) & features about 5 pages of Laffoley's art
in high rez. I thought at first this was an unused submission
for that book, but reading the interview about his 2004 painting
"Pickman's Mephitic Models" it appears to be connected
to that project. In fact, parts of this appear on the 'thoughtform'
for the painting, published at the Kent Gallery site as a
preview of the upcoming Paul Laffoley Catalogue
Rasonne, presenting his complete body of works.
Paul Paints Many Beautiful Things, but he can do some Quite
Scary Work Too,
when focused on those shadow-aspects of reality.
Here are the Page-Links to Monster 11 & below that is the
painting in
Homage to H.P. Lovecraft with some detail zooms of the demonic
entities.
